Google Business Profile
Updated August 24, 2026
The Google integration links a Google account to Pluspoint so that every Google Business Profile it manages can be attached to a Pluspoint location. Once a listing is attached, Pluspoint collects its reviews and posts your replies back to Google. It also pushes business-detail edits made in Pluspoint out to the listing, publishes Google posts and photos, and reports on the listing in analytics. Connect it before you do anything else with Google in Pluspoint.
Before you start
- Your team’s Account Settings permission must be Full, or you must be the account owner.
- Sign in with a Google account that already manages at least one business listing. A Google login with no listings is rejected and the connection is undone automatically.
- To use Create a new location during mapping you also need Locations set to full access with global scope, and a spare location slot on your plan.
- Have your Pluspoint locations created, unless you plan to import them from Google.
Where to find it
Settings → Integrations, or go to https://app.pluspoint.io/account-settings/integrations.
Connect a Google account
- Select Add integration.
- Type
Googleinto Search integrations, then select Connect on the Google row. - Pluspoint sends you to Google’s sign-in screen. Choose the Google account that manages your business listings.
- On the permissions screen, leave every permission ticked — in particular the one covering your business listings. Unticking it fails the connect.
- Confirm the permissions. Google returns you to the Integrations page and Pluspoint reads which listings the account manages.
- The Manage integration modal opens automatically. Map each listing to a location as described below and select Save.
Pluspoint identifies the connection by the Google account email.
Permissions Pluspoint requests
| Google permission | Why Pluspoint needs it |
|---|---|
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/business.manage | Read the listings the account manages, collect their reviews, post replies, push business-detail edits, and publish posts and photos. Mandatory — declining it fails the connect. |
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/businesscommunications | Requested alongside the listings permission on Google’s consent screen. Pluspoint does not check for it, so the connect succeeds without it. |
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/userinfo.email | Read the email address of the Google account, which Pluspoint uses to identify and label the connection. |
Map Google listings to locations
- In the Manage integration modal, choose one of the following for each listing:
- Connect to location — then pick the matching Pluspoint location from the Location dropdown.
- Don’t connect — leave the listing out of Pluspoint.
- Create a new location — import the listing as a brand-new Pluspoint location and link it in one step.
- Select Save.
The Location dropdown hides locations that already hold a Google connection, so you cannot attach two listings to the same location. Reopen the modal at any time with Manage on the Google row.
Note You can connect more than one Google account. Each login gets its own row with its own email in the Account column, its own listings and its own actions.
Connecting a listing from the location instead
You can also work location by location: go to https://app.pluspoint.io/locations/manage, open a location, find the Integrations section and use Connect Profile on the Google row.
What connecting Google gives you
| Capability | Where you use it |
|---|---|
| Google reviews collected and replied to as the business | All reviews, Replying to reviews, Auto-replies |
| Two-way business-profile sync — hours, phone, description, categories | Managing locations, Business hours and special hours |
| Google posts, with a maximum of 1 image and no video | Creating and scheduling posts |
| Photos and videos pulled from and pushed to the listing | Photos and videos |
| Listing import into Pluspoint | Adding locations |
| Review and profile performance reporting for the listing | Location analytics |
Once a location has an official Google connection, the manual Google entry disappears from that location’s review-platform list — the official connection replaces it.
How often data syncs
| What | Cadence |
|---|---|
| New Google reviews | Usually within an hour |
| Replies made outside Pluspoint | Within about 6 hours |
| Edits made in Pluspoint, pushed to Google | Within minutes |
| Photos loaded from Google | Once a day |
| Business-profile data pulled from Google | Once a week |
Reconnect a Google account
A row shows Reconnect when its status is Disconnected. The stored token has stopped working — revoked at Google, the Google password changed, permissions withdrawn, or the refresh token expired. Pluspoint emails the account when this happens.
- Select Reconnect on the Google row.
- Sign in with the same Google account and grant the same permissions.
Reconnecting the same Google login restores everything that login had before. Its locations go back to Connected, and its profiles are re-enabled and queued for a sync. The official Google reviews become visible again, and the scraped Google reviews are hidden again. Signing in with a different Google account creates a separate row instead, and leaves the disconnected one as it was.
Disconnect a Google account
Warning Deleting the Google integration deletes the Google reviews Pluspoint has stored for the linked locations. The confirmation dialog does not say so. If the connection has merely stopped working, use Reconnect — it is not destructive.
- Select Delete on the Google row, or Delete at the bottom left of the Manage integration modal.
- Confirm on the Delete integration? dialog.
| What happens | Detail |
|---|---|
| Access revoked at Google | Pluspoint’s refresh token is revoked, so Google stops honouring it. |
| Official Google profiles deleted | Every Google profile at every location linked to that login is deleted. |
| Stored Google reviews deleted | The Google reviews Pluspoint held for those profiles are deleted, along with notifications that reference them. |
| Location links removed | The Google connection is removed from each of those locations and the row disappears from the table. |
| Scraped and manual Google reviews reappear | Reviews collected without the official connection become visible again. |
| Unofficial Google listing kept | The location keeps its non-official Google listing record, so review collection without the official connection can continue. |
| Survey templates unchanged | Templates that ask for a Google review keep Google selected, and it works again as soon as you reconnect. |
Deleting one Google login when two are connected affects only that login’s locations and reviews. The other connection is untouched.
You can also remove a single location’s Google link without touching the integration. Open the location, find the Integrations section, open the Google row menu and choose Disconnect.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| ”No locations found. Select another Google Account” and nothing is added to the table | The Google account you signed in with manages no business listings. Pluspoint revokes the connection immediately. | Sign in with the Google account that owns or manages the listings, or have that account grant you access in Google Business Profile first |
| ”Grant ‘Manage Listings’ permissions during Google sign-up to proceed” | The business-listings permission was unticked on Google’s consent screen. Pluspoint revokes the partial grant. | Start the connect again and leave every permission ticked |
| ”Couldn’t connect integration” | Google rejected the sign-in | Try again; if it repeats, confirm the Google account still has access to the listings |
| A listing you expect is missing from Manage integration | The signed-in Google account does not manage it | Connect the Google account that does — you can connect more than one |
| ”This online profile is already connected to another location. Please choose a different profile or disconnect it from the current location before proceeding” | The listing is already linked to a different Pluspoint location, possibly through the location’s non-official Google listing | Disconnect it at the other location first — see Resolving profile conflicts |
| ”Couldn’t import” during Create a new location | The import of that listing failed | Pluspoint rolls the half-created location back — select Manage and try that listing again, or create the location manually |
| Create a new location is not offered, or is disabled | You do not have full, global-scope Locations access, or the import would take you past your plan’s location limit | Ask an owner for the permission, or add location slots in Billing and plans |
| Connect Profile on a location is greyed out with “Connect your Google account in the Integration settings to continue” | No Google account is connected on the Integrations page | Connect Google under Settings → Integrations, then come back to the location |
| Connect Profile shows “Complete the required fields to continue” | The location is missing required details | Fill in the location’s required fields, then retry |
| A location flipped to Disconnected on its own | The listing was removed from the Google account on Google’s side | Restore access in Google Business Profile, then reconnect the location |
