Managing locations
Updated August 24, 2026
Manage locations is the working list of every location on your account. It is also the way in to the location form, where you edit business details, hours, categories, images, social links and platform connections. Come here whenever a phone number changes, a store closes, a description needs rewriting, or a location’s Optimization score needs lifting.
Before you start
- Viewing the list requires Locations access at either tier (restricted or full).
- Opening a location, editing it, deleting it and using Bulk edit require Locations: full access covering that location’s scope. Without it the table is read-only.
- Adding locations additionally requires a team with Global scope. See Users and permissions and Teams.
Where to find it
Locations → Manage locations, or go to https://app.pluspoint.io/locations/manage.
Reading the locations list
The table shows every location you have access to, newest first by creation date.
Note This table has no column sorting. To narrow it down, use Filters.
Filtering the list
- Select Filters.
- In Brands, tick the brands you want. Locations with no brand are under (None).
- In Optimization score, tick the levels you want: Critical, Low, Average, Good, Excellent.
- Select Apply filters.
Apply filters stays disabled while either list is empty — you cannot filter down to nothing.
Tip https://app.pluspoint.io/locations/manage?completenessLevels=[1,2] opens the list pre-filtered to the Critical and Low locations. The Optimization score recommendations on your Home dashboard link here.
Understanding the Optimization score
The Optimization score is a 0–100 measure of how completely a location is filled in. It is also shown live on the location form, updating as you type — before you save.
| Score | Level |
|---|---|
| 0–24 | Critical |
| 25–49 | Low |
| 50–69 | Average |
| 70–89 | Good |
| 90–100 | Excellent |
The score rewards the fields that matter most for being found online. The address, primary phone, categories, business hours, social presence and long description move it the most; the rest of the form — the shorter descriptions, logo, cover photo, services, special hours, payment methods and the other details — tops it up. Blocks that do not apply to a location, such as practitioner details for a non-healthcare business or the address while it is hidden from customers, are left out of the calculation entirely, so they never hold the score down.
The score is recalculated every time you save a location. After a bulk edit it is recalculated in the background, so the list column can lag a bulk edit by a short interval.
Editing a location
- Select the row.
- Work through the sections you need.
- Select Save.
A few behaviours worth knowing:
- Save stays disabled until the form is both valid and changed.
- While you have unsaved changes, clicking outside the form or pressing
Escdoes not close it. Cancel always closes and discards. - Whitespace runs in descriptions are collapsed on save, duplicate services and payment methods are de-duplicated, and overlapping time ranges within a day are merged.
Location form sections
General info
| Field | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Internal name | Yes | Pluspoint-only label, shown in the locations list and in every location picker |
| Location name | Yes | The public business name — this is what is published to Google and the directories |
| Type | Yes | Determines which other fields appear. See the table below |
| Brand | No | Single-select. Clearing it with the × removes the location from its brand. Users with full Account settings access can also create a brand from here |
| Status | Yes | Open or Closed |
| Geomodifier | No | Free text: a neighbourhood or landmark qualifier used by directory listings |
| First name, Last name, Degree | Healthcare professional | Degree is required for Healthcare professional in the United States |
| National Health Provider ID | Healthcare professional | Shown in the United States for Healthcare professional and Healthcare facility; required only for Healthcare professional |
| Certifications 1, Certifications 2, … | No | Healthcare professional only. Maximum 10 entries of up to 256 characters each; duplicates are removed on save |
Which Type options you see depends on your account’s industry and country.
| Type | Available when |
|---|---|
| Location | Always |
| Healthcare facility | Industry is Healthcare and Dental |
| Healthcare professional | Industry is Healthcare and Dental and the account country is the United States |
| Hotel | Industry is Hotel and Lodging, Restaurant, or Other |
| Restaurant | Industry is Hotel and Lodging, Restaurant, Food and Grocery, or Other |
Warning Changing Type clears the fields that do not belong to the new type when you save. Switching away from Healthcare professional clears Office, First name, Last name, Degree, Headshot and Certifications. Switching to a non-healthcare type clears National Health Provider ID. Switching away from Hotel or Restaurant removes the location’s menu assignments.

Additional information
| Field | Limit | Notes |
|---|---|---|

http://,https://,www.and bare domains. A description that already contains a link is left alone until you edit it.
Categories and Services
Categories are Google Business categories and drive how you are classified in local search.
- Type at least two characters in Primary category and pick a result.
- Select
+to add a Secondary category. You can add up to 9 secondary categories, for 10 categories in total.
Services are free-text lines — a maximum of 4. Blank rows are dropped on save.
Payment methods
A checkbox grid of payment methods, all optional.
- Insurance appears only when the account industry is Healthcare and Dental and the location Type is Healthcare facility or Healthcare professional.
- Apple Pay is not offered for locations in Portugal. If you set the Country to Portugal, an existing Apple Pay tick is cleared.
Appearance
| Uploader | Accepted | Size | Crop |
|---|---|---|---|
| Logo | JPG, PNG | 10 KB – 500 KB | Square, saved at 250 px wide |
| Cover photo | JPG, PNG | 10 KB – 5 MB | 16:9, saved between 1110 px and 2120 px wide |
| Headshot | JPG, PNG | 10 KB – 5 MB | Square, saved between 200 px and 2120 px. Healthcare professional only |
Social links
Seven prefixed fields — Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, Pinterest, YouTube and TikTok. Type only the handle or path; pasting a full URL also works, and the field normalises it.
A platform that is backed by a connected integration is shown disabled with the helper text Managed by connection. Change it by changing the connection, not here.
These fields are the source of truth for the location’s social presence. They feed the Optimization score, and a bulk edit with sync enabled pushes them to Google as location attributes.
Local Directories
The per-location add-on that publishes your details to 50+ directories, including Apple Maps, Bing, TripAdvisor and Yelp. The section appears only on accounts that are allowed local directory publishing. See Local Directories.
Two things about this section affect the rest of the form. While a location has a live or pending listing, its Country is locked. And Publish Profile stays disabled until every required field on the form is filled.
Integrations
A table of the platforms this location can be connected to, with a Status and a ⋮ menu on each row. Google, Facebook & Instagram, VTEX, TikTok, X and LinkedIn are always listed. CoverManager appears for accounts in Spain, and iFood for accounts in Brazil. CoverManager, iFood and VTEX rows are hidden when there is neither an account integration nor a location integration for them.
The ⋮ menu offers what applies to the current state:
| Menu item | When it appears |
|---|---|
| Connect Profile | Nothing is connected. Pick the matching external profile in the Connect Location drawer |
| Create New Profile | Google only, nothing connected. Creates a brand-new Google Business Profile listing from this location’s data — see Adding locations |
| Manage Profile | Google or Facebook is connected. Opens the listing-level editor for categories, special hours and the profile-sync toggle |
| Verify | Google is Unverified. Opens the Google verification flow |
| Disconnect | Any connected row |
| View Status | iFood, while the account-level iFood connection is still being set up |
Note If the matching account-level integration is missing, Connect Profile is disabled and points you at Settings → Integrations. Both Google menu items are also disabled while the location form still has required fields empty.
Disconnecting means you will no longer collect reviews from that platform through Pluspoint, or see its analytics.
TikTok connects immediately without a drawer. If several TikTok accounts are connected to your Pluspoint account, you are asked which one this location should publish to first.
A given external profile belongs to one location — picking one that is already taken is refused.
Review platforms
Review sites you monitor that are not covered by an official integration: Google, Facebook, Trustpilot, Yelp, TripAdvisor, TheFork, Deliveroo, Booking.com, Hotels.com, Expedia, Healthgrades, Zocdoc and RateMDs.
- Select Add review platform.
- Pick the Platform and paste the Profile URL.
- Select Connect.
A manual Google or Facebook entry is unavailable once the official integration is connected — the connection already covers it. A platform inherited from another location is labelled Shared. You can remove it here, but not edit it.
Deleting a location
- Select the trash icon on the row.
- Confirm.
Warning Deletion is permanent and there is no archive. It also removes everything that belongs to the location: its surveys, survey responses and queued sends, survey visits, survey templates, microsites, live chat tokens, conversations and connected profiles. If the location has a Local Directories listing, its directory services are cancelled first.
Some locations cannot be deleted until you clear the blocker:
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| Cannot proceed: N active coupon template(s) assigned to this location | Archive or delete the coupon templates assigned to the location |
| Cancel this location’s Local Directories add-on first | Cancel the add-on in the location’s Local Directories section, then delete |
| This is the brand’s only location. Assign another location to the brand first | Assign another location to that brand, or clear this location’s Brand field |
What reaches Google and the directories, and when
Saving the location form writes to Pluspoint. Pushing those values outward is a separate step, and the timings differ.
| Change | What happens |
|---|---|
| Saving the location form | Writes to Pluspoint. Field changes are not immediately pushed to Google |
| Bulk edit with Sync changes with external profiles on | Queues a Google push for the syncable fields straight after the save. See Bulk editing and CSV import |
| Manage Profile on a Google row | Writes categories, special hours and the sync flag directly to the Google listing |
| A queued Google push | Usually applied within a couple of minutes; a push that fails is retried automatically for up to an hour |
| A location with Local Directories connected | Changes are re-published about once an hour. Downstream directories can take days to show the update |
| Google and Facebook data pulled back into Pluspoint | Refreshed about once a week, which is what feeds the differences shown on Locations → Profiles |
If a connected listing does not match what you typed in Pluspoint, Locations → Profiles is where the mismatch is shown and resolved — see Resolving profile conflicts.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Rows are not clickable and there are no pencil or trash icons | You have restricted Locations access, or your team’s scope does not cover those locations | Ask an account owner for Locations: full on the relevant scope |
| Bulk edit is visible but the add-location button and Import (CSV) are not | Your team scope is not Global | Adding and CSV-importing locations require Global scope |
| The add-location button has a padlock and the tooltip Upgrade to add more | You are at or over your location quota, or the subscription has expired | Go to Settings → Billing. Only users with full Account settings access can complete the change |
| Save stays greyed out | The form is invalid, or nothing has changed yet | Scroll for a field flagged This field is required and check the phone number is in international format |
The form will not close when you press Esc or click outside | There are unsaved changes | Select Cancel to close and discard |
| Country is greyed out with Locked while directories are connected | The location has a live or pending Local Directories listing | Disconnect the listing or cancel the add-on, then change the country |
| Links are not allowed in the description | A URL or bare domain in one of the description fields | Remove the link; put it in Website or a Custom URL row instead |
| Fields you filled in are blank after saving | You changed Type, and the fields do not belong to the new type | Re-enter them under a type that supports them |
| The Menus picker is missing | The Type is not Hotel or Restaurant, or the account has no menus yet | Set the type, then create a menu under Web pages → Menus |
| Apple Pay is missing from Payment methods | The location’s country is Portugal | Apple Pay is not offered there |
| Couldn’t update after selecting Save | Someone else saved the same location first | Close the form, reopen it and redo the change |
| The Optimization score column does not reflect a bulk edit yet | After a bulk edit the score is recalculated in the background | Refresh the page after a short interval |
| Connect Profile is disabled with a tooltip about integration settings | The account-level integration for that platform is not connected | Connect it at Settings → Integrations, then return to the location |
| This online profile is already connected to another location | Each external profile can back only one location | Pick a different profile, or disconnect it from the location that holds it |
| The form closed by itself right after you opened it | The request that loads the location’s details failed | Reopen the location from the list |
| Edits you had not saved were reset while the form was open | Connecting an integration refreshes the account data, and the open location is re-fetched | Save before you connect an integration from inside the form |
