Coupons

Reward customers with discount or free-item offers, deliver them through the Inbox, campaigns or automations, and track every issue and redemption.

Coupons are special offers you define once and hand out many times — a percentage off, a fixed amount off, or a free item. You build the coupon in Pluspoint, choose which brand or location honours it, and set how long it stays valid. Then you send it to customers from a conversation, a one-time campaign or an automation. Every customer gets their own link, and a staff member redeems it on their phone.

Before you start

  • Coupons requires the Coupons permission.
  • Your plan must include coupons. See Billing and plans.
  • A coupon’s colours, fonts and logo come from the owning brand, so set the brand’s appearance up first. See Brands.

What you can do here

  • Create coupons that give a percentage discount, an amount discount or a free item.
  • Attach a coupon to a single location, or to a whole brand so any of its locations can honour it.
  • Set an end date, a validity window that starts at issue, and a wait period before the coupon can be used.
  • Require staff to enter a four-digit PIN before a redemption counts.
  • Send coupons from an Inbox conversation, a one-time campaign or an automation.
  • Pause a coupon to stop issuing it without touching the coupons customers already hold.
  • Track issued and redeemed counts, and export the full issued-coupon list to CSV.

How a coupon reaches a customer

What you build on the Coupons page is a definition. Individual coupons are minted from it elsewhere — one per recipient, each with its own code and link.

StageWhat it isWhere it happens
CouponThe definition: title, offer, owner, validity rules, PINThe Coupons page
IssueA unique coupon and link (https://plsp.io/o/{code}) minted for one customerAn Inbox conversation, a one-time campaign, or an automation step
RedemptionThe customer opens the link and a staff member confirms the redemptionThe public coupon page, on the customer’s phone

Only coupons whose Enabled toggle is on can be issued. Those are the only ones that appear in the Inbox coupon menu, in the campaign coupon picker and in automation steps.

Coupon states

The Enabled toggle in the table controls whether a coupon can still be issued. Every individual coupon a customer holds also carries its own state.

StateWhat the customer seesWhen it applies
ActiveThe offer and a Redeem buttonThe coupon is inside its validity window and unused
Not available yetNot available yet, with the time remainingA wait period is set and has not elapsed
ExpiredCoupon expiredThe end date or the redemption period has passed
RedeemedCoupon redeemed, with the date and timeIt has already been used, or the coupon was deleted in Pluspoint

Who can see and change coupons

The Coupons permission has two tiers. Pluspoint checks it per coupon, against the locations and brands your team covers.

TierWhat it allows
Coupons — ViewSee the coupons table, open a coupon read-only, download its issued-coupon CSV
Coupons — Create, Edit, DeleteEverything above, plus Create new coupon, editing, the Enabled toggle and deleting

Account owners have full access to every coupon. Everyone else can see a coupon if they have access to its location, to its brand, or to any location in that brand. Changing it takes more: a team must grant them full coupons access over that same location or brand.
