Quick start guide
Go from a new sign-up to a working account: create your login, import locations from Google, connect channels and invite your team.
Pluspoint pulls your locations, reviews, messages, surveys, campaigns and social posts into one dashboard. This guide is the shortest route from a brand-new sign-up to an account doing real work.
Before you start
- You need a Google account with access to your Google Business Profile locations — onboarding imports your locations from Google.
- Every new account starts on a 14-day Free Trial with unlimited locations and users. The trial starts when you finish onboarding, not when you sign up.
Create your account and import your locations
- Go to https://app.pluspoint.io/signup and sign up — Sign up with Google is the fastest route. Grant every permission Google asks for: they are what lets Pluspoint sync your locations and manage reviews on your behalf.
- Fill in your name and choose your Industry. The industry decides whether the Menus editor is available under Web pages (offered for Restaurant, Hotel and Lodging and Other); you can change it later in Settings → Account.
- Select Import from Google and pick the locations to import.
Onboarding works with a single Google login — Connect another account replaces the current one rather than adding a second. To add more locations later, see Adding locations; to connect another Google login later, see Google Business Profile.
Invited teammates skip this flow entirely: they join through the invitation email. See Users and permissions.
Set up the essentials
After onboarding, Home opens with a six-step setup checklist. Working through it is the actual setup — each step below links to the full article.
- Connect Google Business Profile — feeds reviews, profile sync, photos, Google posts and the presence numbers on Home. If you signed up with Google and granted every permission, this is already done. See Google Business Profile; Facebook and Instagram connect the same way in Facebook and Instagram.
- Set up communication channels — the routes customers message you on: live chat, Facebook Messenger, Instagram, WhatsApp, SMS and email. Without at least one channel the Inbox stays empty and you cannot send surveys or campaigns. Start at Channels.
- Configure review auto-replies — answer new reviews automatically using your reply templates. See Auto-replies.
- Create a brand — brands group locations and carry the colours, font and logo used on your public survey pages, microsites, coupon pages and the live chat header. See Brands.
- Create survey templates — define the questions you ask and how each request is delivered. See Creating survey templates.
- Invite your team — a user’s access comes entirely from the teams they belong to, so plan the teams first: Teams, then Users and permissions.
The checklist is shown to users with Full Locations permission and disappears once all six steps are done.
Choose a plan before the trial ends
Go to Settings → Billing, or https://app.pluspoint.io/account-settings/billing, and select Upgrade plan. The plan is priced per location with a minimum of three locations and three users; extra users are billed per seat, and annual billing gives you two months free. See Billing and plans.
When the trial ends the dashboard is replaced by a subscribe screen, and only the account owner or a user with Full Account Settings permission can upgrade — everything you set up during the trial is kept.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| No locations found during onboarding | The Google login has no Business Profile locations, a permission was declined, or the locations sit under a different Google login | Select Connect another account and grant every permission on Google’s consent screen |
| Every page redirects back to onboarding | Onboarding is not finished, and it cannot be skipped | Import or add at least one location and select Complete |
| The verification email never arrived | It was filtered into spam | Check the spam folder, then use RESEND VERIFICATION EMAIL in the information bar |
| This invitation link has expired. | Invitation links are valid for 30 days | Ask an administrator to add you again, which issues a fresh link |
| Menu items are unclickable with a subscription message | The account is over its paid location or user count, or the subscription has lapsed | Open Settings → Billing and adjust the plan |
