Local Directories

Updated August 24, 2026

Local Directories publishes a location’s business details to more than 50 third-party directories — Apple Maps, Bing, TripAdvisor, Yelp and others — and keeps them in sync from then on. Before you publish, Pluspoint scans those same directories and reports what it finds on the Profiles page. You can see exactly which listings are missing or wrong before you decide to fix them. Consistent name, address and phone data across directories is what local search and AI answers rely on.

Before you start

  • Adding or cancelling the add-on needs full Settings access (settings:full). Editing the location itself needs full Locations access (locations:full) on it. See Users and permissions.
  • The location must have a business name, Address line 1, and a Primary phone with at least 7 digits.
  • Supported countries: United States, Brazil, United Kingdom, Spain, Portugal and Ukraine. Locations elsewhere are not scanned and cannot be published.
  • Every required field on the location form must be filled before publishing is allowed.

Where to find it

Open Locations → Manage locations (https://app.pluspoint.io/locations/manage), select the location, and scroll to the Local Directories section of the location form.

The listings themselves are shown on Locations → Profiles. The View Directories link in the Local Directories section opens that page filtered to this one location’s directory rows.

How directory listings are checked

Pluspoint scans the directories for each eligible location and compares the business name, address and phone number with what you keep in Pluspoint. Each directory the scan reaches a verdict on becomes a row on the Profiles page.

Scan resultStatus on ProfilesWhat it means
Listing found, name, address and phone all matchSyncedThe directory has the right details
Listing found, one or more details differConflictThe directory has out-of-date details. Publishing corrects them
No listing foundNot foundThe business is missing from that directory. Publishing creates the listing

Google and Facebook are not part of this scan — those two are covered by the Google and Facebook integrations, which sync in both directions. See Profiles.

Directory rows are read-only observations until the location is published. They cannot be resolved field by field the way Google and Facebook rows can. The fix is to publish the location, so that Pluspoint owns the listing.

A first scan can take a while to start, and scanned locations are rescanned about every 60 days.

Add Local Directories to a location

  1. Go to Locations → Manage locations and open the location.
  2. Scroll to Local Directories.
  3. Select Add Local Directories.
  4. Review the summary of charges and confirm the purchase.

If the account does not yet have an active subscription, the window explains that Local Directories requires one. It offers Subscribe & add this location, which starts the subscription and adds the location in one step.

You can also start this from the Profiles page: open the menu on a directory row and select Upgrade.

Price

Local Directories is billed per location, per month, on top of your plan.

Billing currencyPer location, per monthPer location, per year
US dollars$39$390
Euros€39€390
Pounds sterling£35£350
Brazilian reaisR$199R$1990

On monthly billing there is a 3-month minimum term, after which the add-on can be cancelled. On annual billing there is no minimum term, so you can cancel straight away. See Billing and plans.

Publish a location included in your plan

When directory publishing is part of your plan, the section shows Included in your plan instead of a price.

  1. Open the location and complete every required field — Publish Profile stays disabled while anything is missing.
  2. Select Publish Profile.

On the Profiles page, the same action is available from a directory row’s menu as Publish.

What happens after you publish

  • Pluspoint takes over the location’s directory listings. The observed rows on Profiles are replaced by managed rows. While that handover runs, every row that is not already Synced shows In progress.
  • Changes you make to a published location are republished automatically, about once an hour — you do not need to press anything after editing.
  • Directories update on their own schedules, so a change can take several days to appear on every external site.
  • The location’s Country field is locked while directories are connected. To change the country, cancel the add-on or disconnect the listing first.

Cancel or disconnect

On a paid add-on: select Cancel Local Directories in the location’s Local Directories section. The button is only available to users with settings:full, and on monthly billing it stays disabled until the 3-month minimum term ends. Publishing continues until the end of the period you have paid for, then this location’s listings are removed. No refunds are issued.

On a plan that includes publishing: select Disconnect to stop publishing the location to the directories.

Two things depend on the add-on being inactive:

  • A location cannot be deleted while it holds an active Local Directories add-on. Cancel it first.
  • The number of locations on the subscription cannot be reduced below the number of locations that hold the add-on.
