Pluspoint — AI local marketing platform

Creating and scheduling posts

Updated August 24, 2026

The Posts screen is where you plan, write and schedule everything you publish to social. You choose the locations and the platforms, and Pluspoint turns that into one individual post per location per platform.

Before you start

  • You need full Posts permission to create, edit, schedule, retry, cancel or delete. Restricted access gives you a read-only calendar and table with no Create new post button.
  • Your account needs an active Google or Facebook integration before the screen opens at all.
  • Each location must have a connected profile for every platform you want to publish it to — see Profiles.
  • Your permission is checked against every location on a post, not only the ones you can see. If you have full access to two of a post’s three locations, the edit, delete, retry and cancel controls do not appear for you at all.

Where to find it

SocialPosts, or go to https://app.pluspoint.io/social/posts.

How posts are organised

What you save in the editor is one item: a Title, a scheduled time, the locations and the platforms. When you schedule it, Pluspoint expands it into one post for every location-and-platform pair that is directly connected. Three locations on Facebook and Instagram produce six posts.

This matters because the two levels have separate lives:

  • The item you saved has one status and one scheduled time.
  • Each individual post inside it publishes on its own. It succeeds or fails on its own, carries its own error message, and has its own retry, cancel and delete actions. One failure never affects the others.

Expand a row in the table to see the individual posts.

Note Some messages from the server call the saved item a campaign — for example A completed campaign can’t be edited. Delete individual posts where supported instead. That is the same thing as the post you saved, the one that fans out into the individual posts underneath it.

Switch between Calendar and Table

Use the Calendar and Table toggle in the page header.

Calendar view

  • Select a chip to open the post. It opens for editing if you are allowed to edit it, and read-only otherwise.
  • Select the empty area of today or a future day to start a new post pre-filled for 10:00 on that day.

Drafts saved without a scheduled time are not drawn on the calendar. Find those in the table.

Table view

One row per post, with a chevron that expands it into the individual posts underneath. View is always available and opens the post read-only. Edit and Delete appear only when you have full access to every location on the post and the post has not been dispatched yet.

Filter what you see

Select Filters in the page header, set any of the three groups, then select Apply filters.

FilterOptions
LocationsLocations that have a Google or Facebook profile. A location connected only to TikTok, X or LinkedIn is not offered here, even though you can publish to it.
PlatformsOnly platforms that actually appear on posts you can see. A platform you have connected but never used on a post is not listed.
StatusDraft, Scheduled, Completed.

Note Apply filters stays disabled if you empty any group. Every group must keep at least one selection.

Create a post

  1. Select Create new post.
  2. Enter a Title. It names the post in the table, on the calendar chip and in analytics, and it is never published to any platform.
  3. Choose your Platforms. You are offered only platforms with at least one directly-connected location you can write to.
  4. Set the Scheduled time. It must be in the future.
  5. Choose your Locations. It offers only locations you can write to that are directly connected to at least one platform you selected. On a single-location account the field is hidden and the location is chosen for you.
  6. Under Content, on the All platforms tab, write your Message and add media with Upload media.
  7. Open each platform tab in turn to check how the post reads there, and tailor it if you want to.
  8. Select Schedule post, or open the arrow next to it and choose Save draft.

Character limits and media rules per platform are in Platform requirements and limits.

Matching platforms with locations

Every platform you select needs at least one selected location that is directly connected to it. Without that the post cannot be saved. Removing a platform automatically drops any location that is no longer valid for what is left. Removing every platform clears the location selection.

Tailor the post for one platform

By default, every platform publishes the message and media from the All platforms tab. To change that for one platform:

  1. Open that platform’s tab under Content.
  2. Turn on Customize for {platform}.
  3. Edit the copy that appears. It starts as a copy of the base message and base media, and Stories start with just the first media item.

Two rules are worth knowing:

  • A blank message falls back. If you clear the message on a customised platform, that platform publishes the base message.
  • Blank media does not fall back. A customised platform’s media list is authoritative even when empty. Clear all media there and that platform publishes with no media at all.

Turning the switch back off discards the override completely and returns that platform to the base post.

A tab with a rule it cannot satisfy shows a red dot. Hover it to see what is wrong.

Add a Google button

The Google tab has two extra fields.

BookYes
Order onlineYes
BuyYes

The Link must be a valid URL.

Stories

The Facebook Story and Instagram Story tabs have no message editor at all — stories publish media only. Each story needs exactly one image or video. If the media is not roughly 9:16, the platform will crop it to fit. Published stories expire 24 hours after publishing.

Insert location details

Select Dynamic variables in the message toolbar to drop a placeholder into the text. Each one is replaced with that location’s own data at publishing time, so a single message produces a correctly localised post for every location.

The preview panel resolves these against the location you have selected in its dropdown, so you can check the result before scheduling.

Draft your copy with AI

  • On the All platforms tab, Write post generates a message from the selected locations’ details, your account language and your industry, within the current character limit.
  • On a platform tab, Optimize for {platform} rewrites what you have with guidance and a length target for that platform.

Save as scheduled or as a draft

Creating a postSchedule post — saves it as ScheduledSave draft — saves it as Draft
Editing a scheduled postSave changes — keeps it ScheduledSave draft — turns it back into a Draft
Editing a draftSave changes — keeps it a DraftSchedule post — promotes it to Scheduled

A draft is saved but inert: no individual posts exist for it and nothing will publish. Scheduling it builds them.

Warning Turning a scheduled post back into a draft is a hard reset. Every individual post inside it is deleted, including any you had cancelled. Scheduling it again rebuilds them all from scratch.

When your post actually publishes

Posts go out every 30 minutes, at the top of the hour and at half past. A post scheduled for 14:05 goes live at around 14:30. Schedule on a :00 or :30 boundary if the exact minute matters.

Scheduling is the only way to publish a post; there is no publish-now action.

The moment dispatch begins, the post’s status becomes Completed. That means “handed over”, not “all published”. Individual posts may still be in flight, or may have failed. Read the per-post statuses to know what really happened.

Publishing re-checks eligibility at the last moment. A post aimed at a Google profile that has since become unverified or disconnected fails at publishing time, even though it saved cleanly.

Reschedule a post

Drag its chip to another day in the calendar view. The time of day stays the same and only the date changes. Every individual post still waiting to publish moves with it. Anything already published or failed stays where it is.

Posts that have already been dispatched cannot be rescheduled.

Read the statuses

StatusMeaning
DraftSaved but not queued. No individual posts exist. Nothing will publish.
ScheduledQueued. The individual posts exist and are waiting for their time.
CompletedDispatch has started. It does not mean everything published. This is permanent — retrying a failed post never changes it back — and the post can no longer be edited, deleted or rescheduled.

Each individual post inside has its own status.

CancelledYou cancelled it before it published.
DeletedYou deleted it after it published, and it was removed from the platform.
Removed on platformPluspoint published it, but it no longer exists on Facebook or Instagram — somebody deleted it there, or Meta removed it.

Retry, cancel or delete an individual post

Expand the row and use the icons on the individual post. These stay available even after the parent post is Completed, as long as you have full access to every location on it.

Post statusActionWhat it does
Not publishedRetryRe-queues the post immediately and clears the stored failure reason. It goes out on the next 30-minute tick.
ScheduledCancelStops the post from publishing.
PublishedDeleteRemoves the live post from the platform, where the platform allows it. This cannot be undone.

InstagramYes
Instagram StoryYes

TikTokNo
Facebook StoryNo

Cancelled and deleted posts are preserved when you edit and re-save the parent, so re-saving never resurrects something you deliberately cancelled.

Delete a whole post

Use the trash icon on the row, or Delete inside the editor.

Deleting a draft or a scheduled post removes it, and tries to remove any children that already went live. Once dispatch has begun, deletion is refused — expand the row and remove the individual posts one at a time, on the platforms that allow it.

What happens automatically when a post fails

Some failures are retried for you before the post is marked Not published.

PlatformSituationBehaviour
GoogleGoogle could not fetch the imageRetried after a few seconds, then re-attempted every 20 minutes for up to 30 minutes.
GoogleServer error, rate limit, network timeoutRe-attempted in 20 minutes, for up to an hour.

Facebook, Instagram, both StoriesAny errorNo automatic retry. The first terminal error fails the post.

Once the window closes, or if the error is terminal, the post becomes Not published and stores the platform’s message. Anything stuck in Publishing for more than 15 minutes fails automatically with Publish did not complete in time; please retry. TikTok posts that are still legitimately processing are excluded from that.
