Social analytics
Updated September 24, 2026
Social analytics shows two things for Facebook and Instagram: the audience of each connected page — followers, 28-day reach and the engagement rate they support — and how the posts you published through Pluspoint performed.
Before you start
- You need the Posts permission. Read-only access is enough — nothing on this page changes anything.
- Analytics covers Facebook and Instagram only. Google, TikTok, X, LinkedIn and both Story types produce no analytics.
- At least one of your locations must have a Facebook profile connected. See Facebook and Instagram and Profiles.
- Numbers come from Meta and refresh once a day, so a post you published this morning has nothing to show until tomorrow.
Where to find it
Social → Analytics, or go to https://app.pluspoint.io/social/analytics.
Filter the report
Select Filters in the page header, set the filters you want, then select Apply filters.
| Filter | Options | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Locations | Only locations that have a Facebook profile connected | All available |
| Platforms | Facebook and Instagram | Both |
| Timeframe | Any date range | The last year, ending today |
| Group by | Day, Week, Month, Year | Month |
Note Apply filters stays disabled if you empty Locations or Platforms. Each must keep at least one selection.
Select Print in the header to open your browser’s print dialog with a layout built for paper or PDF.
Read the metrics
The first row describes your pages. Each tile shows the value on the last day of the period you selected, plus the change against the last day of the period of the same length immediately before it. A one-month view therefore compares the end of this month with the end of the month before.
| Tile | What it counts |
|---|---|
| Followers | Followers of the selected pages and accounts, added up. |
| 28-day reach | People who saw any content from the selected pages in the 28 days ending on that day, added up across pages. Meta counts each person once per page, so this is not a sum of post reach. |
| Engagement rate by reach | Interactions on the posts you published through Pluspoint in the period (likes, comments, shares, clicks and saves), per post, divided by the average 28-day reach of the selected pages and accounts. |
| Engagement rate by followers | The same interactions per post, divided by the average follower count of the selected pages and accounts. |
Followers and 28-day reach cover the whole page, including posts made outside Pluspoint, stories and page visits. That is the same scope Meta Business Suite shows. The two rates average across every selected page and account, so a location with both a Facebook page and an Instagram account averages the two; pick one platform to see that account’s own rate. A tile shows a dash when no value exists for the period (see troubleshooting).
The second row describes the posts published in the period. Each tile shows the total for the period, plus a percentage change against the period of the same length immediately before it.
| Tile | What it counts |
|---|---|
| Posts | Posts published through Pluspoint in the period. |
| Reach | The unique views Meta reports for the post. |
| Likes | On Facebook, every reaction type, not only the Like reaction. On Instagram, the like count. |
| Comments | Comments on the post, as reported by Meta. |
| Shares | Shares of the post, as reported by Meta. |
Compare individual posts
The Posts table lists your posts with their Reach, Likes, Comments, Shares, Clicks and Saves. Meta reports clicks only for Facebook posts and saves only for Instagram posts, so the other platform shows a dash in that column, in the table and as an empty cell in the export. The top-level row is the post’s total across everything it published to. Expand it to see one row per location and platform.
Export the numbers
Open the menu on the Posts table and choose Export as CSV or Export as Excel. The export uses the filters you have applied. The file has one row per post and platform, with the columns Title, Social Channel, Reach, Likes, Comments, Shares, Clicks and Saves. The grouped totals from the parent rows are not included. Column headers in the file are always in English.
How the numbers refresh
Figures are lifetime totals placed on the post’s publishing date. A post published in January that keeps collecting likes in March makes January’s bar grow. So a bar tells you what that period’s posts have earned in total, not how much engagement happened during that period.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| The charts and table are empty and no filter is applied | No location has a Facebook profile connected, so there is nothing to report on | Connect a Facebook profile to at least one location under Locations → Profiles. |
| A post you published today has no figures | The first refresh has not run yet | Check again the following day. |
| Followers or 28-day reach shows a dash | No value has been collected for the period yet: the page was connected today, or the period ends before collection started | Check again the following day, or pick a period that ends after the connection date. |
| 28-day reach shows a dash while Followers has a value | The Facebook connection was made without the permission to read insights | Reconnect Facebook under Settings → Integrations and accept every requested permission. Followers need no extra permission, so they keep working. |
| One post’s figures never change while others update | Meta is refusing the request for it — usually because it was deleted on the platform, or because the connection lost the permission needed to read insights | Check whether the post still exists on Facebook or Instagram, then reconnect the integration under Settings → Integrations. |
| A post shows Removed on platform on the Posts screen and has stopped collecting figures | The post no longer exists on Facebook or Instagram, so Meta has nothing left to report on it | Nothing to fix in Pluspoint. |
| An old month’s bar grew since you last looked | Figures are lifetime totals bucketed by publishing date | Expected. Older posts keep earning engagement. |
