X
Updated August 24, 2026
Connecting X lets you write, schedule and publish X posts from Pluspoint alongside your other social platforms. Each connected X account is attached to one Pluspoint location. A multi-location team can run a separate account per site and manage them all in one place.
Before you start
- Your team’s Account Settings permission must be Full, or you must be the account owner.
- You need the sign-in details for the X account you want to publish from.
- Create at least one location first — the X account is attached to a location.
Where to find it
Settings → Integrations, or go to https://app.pluspoint.io/account-settings/integrations.
Connect an X account
- Select Add integration.
- Type
Xinto Search integrations, then select Connect on the X row. - Pluspoint sends you to X’s authorisation page. Sign in with the account you want to publish from.
- Authorise the access X lists. Declining fails the connect.
- When X returns you to Pluspoint, the Manage integration modal opens with a single row for the connected account.
- Choose Connect to location, pick the location from the Location dropdown, and select Save.
Note Finish the authorisation within 10 minutes of selecting Connect. The authorisation request expires after that and you have to start again from Add integration.
Access Pluspoint requests
| Permission | What Pluspoint uses it for |
|---|---|
tweet.write | Publish posts from Pluspoint |
tweet.read | Read the posts it has published, to report on them |
users.read | Read the account’s display name, handle and avatar so Pluspoint can label the connection |
media.write | Upload the images, GIFs and video attached to a post |
offline.access | Keep the connection alive without asking you to sign in again for every post |
Attach X to a location
X has no per-page list, so Manage integration shows one row for the whole account. Reopen it at any time with Manage on the X row. From there you can move the account to a different location, or set it to Don’t connect.
The Location dropdown hides locations that already have an X account attached, so each location holds at most one.
You can also start from the location: open a location at https://app.pluspoint.io/locations/manage, find the Integrations section and use Connect Profile on the X row.
Note You can connect several X accounts. Each gets its own row with its own handle and can be attached to a different location.
What connecting X gives you
Publishing, and nothing else — X brings no reviews and no conversations into Pluspoint. Write posts in Creating and scheduling posts and review their performance in Social analytics.
Publishing limits
| Rule | Limit |
|---|---|
| Characters per post | 280. Every URL counts as 23 characters regardless of its real length |
| Images per post | 4 |
| GIFs per post | 1 |
| Videos per post | 1 |
Full cross-platform limits are in Platform requirements and limits.
Reconnect an X account
A row shows Reconnect when its status is Disconnected — access was revoked in X’s connected-apps settings, the credentials changed, or the stored refresh token expired. Pluspoint emails the account when this happens. A healthy connection normally maintains itself.
- Select Reconnect on the X row.
- Sign in with the same X account and authorise it again.
Reconnecting the same account restores its location link. Signing in with a different account creates a new row instead.
Disconnect an X account
- Select Delete on the X row, or Delete at the bottom left of the Manage integration modal.
- Confirm on the Delete integration? dialog.
| What happens | Detail |
|---|---|
| Access revoked at X | Pluspoint’s token is revoked at X. |
| Social profile removed | The X profile record is deleted. X carries no reviews, so no review data is lost. |
| Location link removed | The location’s X connection is removed and the row disappears from the table. |
| Publishing stops | Scheduled posts can no longer be published to that account. |
| The location’s X link stays | The X URL saved on the location’s social links is a location field, so it survives the disconnect. |
Deleting one X row leaves any other connected X accounts untouched.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| ”Couldn’t connect integration” straight after X’s screen | The authorisation was declined or X rejected the request | Start the connect again and authorise every item X lists |
| A post is rejected for length even though it looks short enough | Every URL in the post counts as 23 characters | Shorten the text or remove a link |
| The row dropped to Disconnected without you doing anything | Pluspoint’s access was revoked in X’s connected-apps settings, or the refresh token expired | Select Reconnect and sign in with the same account |
| Connect Profile on a location is greyed out with “Connect your X account in the Integration settings to continue” | No X account is connected on the Integrations page | Connect X first — selecting the row takes you there |
| The location you want is missing from the Location dropdown | It already has an X account attached | Detach it there first, or pick another location |
