RingCentral
Updated October 10, 2026
The RingCentral integration lets Pluspoint send SMS through your RingCentral account. Once connected, you create an SMS channel on one of your RingCentral numbers and use it like any other channel: survey invitations, one-time campaigns, automations and one-to-one messages all go out from that number. RingCentral bills the messages as usual.
Before you start
- Account Settings permission set to Full — the Integrations tab is hidden from everyone else.
- The RingCentral sign-in of the user whose number should send. RingCentral only lets a user text from numbers assigned to them, so connect as that user, not as an administrator who does not own the number.
- At least one RingCentral number with SMS enabled.
Where to find it
Settings → Integrations, or go to https://app.pluspoint.io/account-settings/integrations.
Connect RingCentral
- Go to Settings → Integrations.
- Click Add integration and find RingCentral.
- Click Connect. RingCentral’s sign-in page opens.
- Sign in as the RingCentral user whose number should send and allow access.
Back in Pluspoint, the RingCentral row shows the user’s name and number. Pluspoint asks RingCentral for permission to send SMS, to read the user’s numbers and to read the delivery status of the user’s outgoing texts. It never reads calls or voicemail.
You can connect several RingCentral users, for example one per location. Each appears as its own RingCentral row. Connecting a user who is already connected refreshes the connection in place.
Create the SMS channel
- Go to Settings → Channels, click Add channel and choose SMS.
- Set Provider to RingCentral. The option appears only while a RingCentral account is connected.
- If several RingCentral users are connected, pick the RingCentral account.
- Pick the RingCentral number. Only numbers that user can send SMS from are offered.
- Choose the team, optionally link a location or brand, and select Done.
The channel is outbound only. Customer replies arrive in RingCentral, not in the Pluspoint inbox. See SMS channel for everything else about SMS channels.
Opt-outs
RingCentral handles STOP replies: it confirms the opt-out to the customer and blocks further texts to them from that number. Once a text to that customer is blocked, Pluspoint marks the contact unsubscribed, which keeps them out of every later campaign and automation. The RingCentral admin portal keeps the full opt-out list.
Disconnecting RingCentral
Delete on the RingCentral row removes the connection. Every SMS channel built on it is disabled, and campaigns scheduled on those channels fail until you connect again and save the channel.
If access is removed on the RingCentral side, or the connection expires, the row shows Disconnected, the account receives an email, and the channels are disabled. Reconnect as the same RingCentral user, then open each channel and select Save changes to turn it back on, reschedule its campaigns and resume its automations.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| RingCentral is missing from the Provider list | No RingCentral account is connected | Connect one under Integrations first |
| The RingCentral number list is empty | None of the connected user’s numbers has SMS enabled, or the number belongs to another user | Enable SMS on the number in the RingCentral admin portal, or connect as the user who owns the number |
| The RingCentral row shows Disconnected | Access was removed in RingCentral, the user’s password changed, or the connection expired | Click Reconnect and sign in as the same RingCentral user |
| A campaign on a RingCentral channel failed | The channel was disabled because its RingCentral account disconnected | Reconnect the account, then open the channel and select Save changes to reschedule the campaign |
| A customer stopped receiving texts | They replied STOP to your RingCentral number | They can text START to the same number; Pluspoint re-subscribes the contact only when you edit it |
