Account settings
Updated October 6, 2026
The Account tab holds the settings that describe the whole account. Two of these choices reach much further than they look. The locale decides your billing currency, and the industry decides whether the Menus feature is offered at all.
Before you start
- Requires Account Settings = Full on one of your teams, or being the account owner.
- Only the current account owner can hand ownership to someone else.
- The person you want to make owner must already be a member of the account and belong to a team with Account Settings = Full.
Where to find it
Select Settings in the left sidebar, then the Account tab — or click your avatar and choose General settings. Direct link: https://app.pluspoint.io/account-settings/general.
Edit the account name and owner
- Open the Account name & ownership section.
- Edit Account name, Account owner, Locale and Industry.
- Select Save changes.
There is exactly one account owner, and the owner has full access to everything in the product. Hand it over deliberately: once you save, you can no longer change the field yourself.
Set the locale
Two things follow from Locale:
- Billing currency. Brazil is billed in Brazilian reais. Portugal, Spain, Poland and Germany are billed in euros, the United Kingdom in pounds sterling, and International, Mexico, Ukraine and the United States in US dollars. See Billing and plans.
- Phone-number defaults across the dashboard, including contact imports and SMS.
Choose the industry
Industry is required, and it gates the Menus feature.
Note Menus is only offered when the account industry is Restaurant, Hotel and Lodging or Other. Setting any other industry removes the Menus item from the sidebar and hides the feature. See Menus.
Tag listing links for analytics
Switch on Tag listing links in the Link tracking section to add tracking tags to the website link on every connected listing. Your analytics then shows which visits came from Google, from Facebook and from the directories, and tells the listings apart by each location’s Store code (see Managing locations).
Every listing receives the same tags: utm_source names the channel (google, facebook or local-directory), utm_medium and utm_campaign are the two values you set here, and utm_content is the location’s store code. The page shows an example link as you type. Your own pages, such as microsites, keep the plain website.
Saving a change to these settings updates every connected Google listing and the directories; Facebook pages take the new link from the conflict resolver, as with any other edit. Tags typed on a listing itself are replaced by the ones set here.
Note Google Analytics files visits by source: Google listings count as organic search and Facebook as organic social, while directory visits fall outside its default channel groups. A custom channel group on
utm_mediumcollects all listing traffic in one place. If your website declares a canonical address, keep it on the plain page so tagged visits are not counted as a separate page.
Copy your API key
The X-Api-Key field on this page carries the key that authenticates requests to the Pluspoint API. Use the copy icon beside it.
Treat it like a password: anyone holding it can act against your account through the API. See the API documentation for how it is used.
Manage MCP connections
The MCP Connections section lists the apps that can reach your Pluspoint account through the Model Context Protocol, such as Claude.ai or ChatGPT. Revoke any you no longer use.
Connect an MCP client
- Copy the address in the URL field — it is
https://app.pluspoint.io/mcp. - Paste it into Claude.ai, ChatGPT or another MCP client.
- Complete the authorisation prompt that Pluspoint shows. Once you approve it, the client appears in this section.
Revoke a connection
- Select Revoke on the connection card and confirm.
The client can no longer reach your account. Sessions already in flight can continue for up to one hour while existing access tokens expire. To restore access, the client has to be authorised again from scratch.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| The Account tab is missing, or the URL bounces you to Profile | Your teams do not grant Account Settings = Full | Ask the account owner, or someone on a team with Account Settings = Full, to make the change or to raise your team’s tier |
| Account owner is greyed out | Only the current owner can reassign ownership | Ask the current owner to do it |
| The person you want to make owner is not in the Account owner list | They are not a member of the account, or no team of theirs has Account Settings = Full | Add them under Users and permissions, then put them on a team with Account Settings = Full |
| The Integrations and Channels tabs are disabled with a tooltip and an error toast about your subscription | The account is over its paid locations or users, or the subscription is past its grace period | Open Billing and plans and fix the plan |
| Menus has vanished from the sidebar | The account industry was changed to one that does not offer Menus | Set Industry back to Restaurant, Hotel and Lodging or Other |
| An MCP client still works right after you revoked it | Its access token has not expired yet | Wait up to one hour; the connection cannot be renewed without a new authorisation |
