Connect AI assistants (MCP)
Updated October 8, 2026
Pluspoint runs an MCP server, so AI assistants that support the Model Context Protocol can work with your account directly. Once connected, you can ask an assistant to summarise this week’s reviews, look up a contact or a conversation, or draft and schedule a social post. It can also send a survey, all from inside the chat.
Every assistant connects with the same address and the same sign-in. Only the place where you paste the address differs.
Before you start
- Requires Account Settings = Full on one of your teams, or being the account owner. Anyone else is refused at the authorisation step.
- An account with the AI assistant you want to connect. Some assistants only allow custom connections on paid plans.
- The assistant gets full access to the whole account you choose, not just the locations your teams can see. Only connect assistants you trust.
Your MCP address
https://app.pluspoint.io/mcp
You can also copy it from Settings → Account → MCP Connections: https://app.pluspoint.io/account-settings/general.
How connecting works
Whichever assistant you use, the steps end the same way:
- Add the address to the assistant as a custom connector, app or MCP server.
- The assistant opens a Pluspoint sign-in page. Sign in with your usual Pluspoint login.
- If you belong to several accounts, pick one under Choose an account.
- Select Authorize.
The assistant then appears under MCP Connections in your account settings, where you can revoke it at any time. An assistant works with one Pluspoint account at a time. To switch it to another account, connect it again and choose that account, then revoke the old connection under MCP Connections in the first account.
Claude
Works in Claude on the web and in Claude Desktop. On the Free plan you can add one custom connector.
Pro and Max
- In Claude, open Customize → Connectors.
- Select +, then Add custom connector.
- Enter
Pluspointas the name, paste the MCP address, and select Continue until you reach Add. - Select Connect next to the new connector and complete the Pluspoint sign-in.
Team and Enterprise. An organisation owner adds the connector once under Organization settings → Connectors → Add → Custom → Web, with the same name and address. Each member then opens Customize → Connectors, finds Pluspoint and selects Connect.
To use it in a chat, select + in the message box, open Connectors and make sure Pluspoint is switched on.
ChatGPT
Custom MCP apps run in ChatGPT on the web and are not available on the Free plan. On Business, Enterprise and Edu workspaces, an admin has to allow custom MCP apps for the workspace first.
- Open ChatGPT settings and go to Apps (labelled Plugins on some accounts).
- If there is no option to add your own app, open Advanced settings and switch on Developer mode.
- Choose to create an app or add a custom MCP server.
- Enter
Pluspointas the name, paste the MCP address, and choose OAuth for authentication. - Accept the warning about custom apps and create it.
- Complete the Pluspoint sign-in when ChatGPT asks you to.
To use it in a chat, open the + menu in the message box and pick Pluspoint, or type @Pluspoint. OpenAI moves these menus from time to time. If a label does not match, OpenAI’s own help center has the current steps.
Claude Code
Run this in your terminal:
claude mcp add --transport http pluspoint https://app.pluspoint.io/mcp
Then start Claude Code, type /mcp, select pluspoint and choose to authenticate. Your browser opens the Pluspoint sign-in.
Visual Studio Code (GitHub Copilot)
- Open the Command Palette and run MCP: Add Server.
- Choose HTTP, paste the MCP address and name it
pluspoint. - Choose whether to save it for your user or for the current workspace.
- When VS Code asks to sign in, allow it and complete the Pluspoint sign-in.
Use it from Copilot Chat in Agent mode. The Pluspoint tools appear in the tools picker.
Gemini CLI
Run this in your terminal:
gemini mcp add --transport http pluspoint https://app.pluspoint.io/mcp
Then start Gemini CLI and run /mcp auth pluspoint to sign in.
Other assistants
Any assistant that supports remote MCP servers with OAuth sign-in can connect. Look for a setting called connectors, apps, integrations, tools or MCP servers. Choose the HTTP or “streamable HTTP” type if asked, paste the MCP address, and leave the client ID and secret empty.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| A page says you do not have permission to connect the app | Your teams do not grant Account Settings = Full | Ask the account owner, or someone with Account Settings = Full, to connect the assistant |
| The assistant is connected to the wrong account | You picked another account under Choose an account | Revoke it under MCP Connections, then connect again and choose the right account |
| The authorisation page warns that the client is impersonating a known vendor | The app’s name looks like a well-known assistant, but it does not come from that vendor | Select Cancel unless you know and trust where the app comes from |
| There is no option to add a custom connector or app | Your plan or your workspace admin does not allow custom connectors | Check the assistant’s plan options, or ask your workspace admin to allow them |
| The assistant stopped working after it had worked before | The connection was revoked under MCP Connections | Connect the assistant again |
