Adding locations or users
Updated August 24, 2026
Locations and users are both quota-bound. Buy the seats on Settings → Billing, then add the location under Locations or the person under Settings → Users. If your plan still has headroom, skip straight to the last two sections.
Before you start
- Changing the plan needs Account Settings set to Full, or the account owner. Everyone else gets the message “Please ask your account admin to upgrade the plan.”
- Adding a location needs Locations set to Full on a team with global scope.
- Adding a user needs Account Settings set to Restricted or Full — Restricted gives you the Users tab and nothing else.
- The plan starts at 3 locations and includes 3 users; extra users are billed per seat.
- During a free trial, locations and users are unlimited, so there is nothing to raise.
Where to find it
Settings → Billing, or go to https://app.pluspoint.io/account-settings/billing.
Check what you are paying for
If the usage line on the Current plan card shows no paid count, that quota is unlimited and you can add freely.
Raise the location or user count
- On the Current plan card, select Change plan. On a Free Trial or Freemium account the button reads Upgrade plan instead and opens the same form.
- Choose the billing period: Annual or Monthly.
- Set Number of locations and Number of users.
- Select Proceed to payment.
- A new subscription takes you straight to the payment page. On an existing subscription you get a preview first; select Confirm to apply the change immediately.
Payment methods, past invoices and cancellation live in the Stripe customer portal. Open it with Manage plan on the same card. Pluspoint does not render invoices itself.
Add the location
- Go to Locations → Manage locations (https://app.pluspoint.io/locations/manage).
- Use the split button: Add location manually lets you type the details yourself; Import from Google pulls them from a connected Google Business Profile.
- Complete the form and save.
Add the user
- Go to Settings → Users.
- Select Add user.
- Fill in the details — the email cannot be changed later.
- Pick at least one entry under Teams — a user with no team has no permissions and cannot be saved — and select Save.
The person receives an invitation email. Someone new to Pluspoint lands on Set up your account, where they either continue with Google or set a password. That link is valid for 30 days. If they already use Pluspoint in another account, the email signs them into yours and they keep their existing password.
Quota rules worth knowing
| Rule | Detail |
|---|---|
| Location minimum | The plan starts at 3 locations |
| Users included | 3 users are included; each additional user is billed as a seat |
| Billing period | Annual or Monthly; annual costs ten months |
| Reducing counts | The steppers cannot go below what you already use — delete the surplus locations or users first |
| Locations with the Local Directories add-on | You cannot delete a location while its add-on is active — cancel the add-on first. On a monthly subscription the add-on also has a 3-month minimum term |
| Free trial | Locations and users are unlimited while the trial runs |
| Where the price is charged | Immediately, prorated, when you confirm a change to an existing subscription |
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| The add-location or Add user button has a padlock and the tooltip “Upgrade to add more” | You are at your paid quota, or billing has lapsed | Select it to open the change-plan drawer, raise the count, then add the record. Without Account Settings set to Full the padlocked button is disabled outright |
| Toast reads “Upgrade your subscription to use this feature” | The server refused the create because the quota is full | Same fix — raise the count on the Billing tab |
| Manage plan opens a Select account panel | The account is entitled through more than one subscription | Choose the subscription you want to manage, then continue |
| You cannot lower the location count | The stepper stops at the number of locations you still have, and a location with an active Local Directories add-on cannot be deleted | Cancel the add-on (“Cancel this location’s Local Directories add-on first”), delete the location, then reduce the count |
| No split button on Manage locations | You lack Locations set to Full with global scope | Ask an admin to widen your team’s permissions |
| The Channels and Integrations tabs are greyed out, and you keep landing on Billing | The account uses more locations or users than it pays for, or the subscription is past its grace period | Raise the counts or fix the payment on the Billing tab. Manage locations and the other Settings tabs stay reachable, so you can delete the surplus |
